In May 2014, the 1971 Fund Administrative Council instructed the Director to appeal the decision by the High Court to grant a freezing injunction against the 1971 Fund, following the action brought by the Gard Club in respect of the Nissos Amorgos incident.
The 1971 Fund Administrative Council instructed the Director to contact the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to discuss the implications on the 1992 Fund and the Supplementary Fund of the judgement in which a discrepancy between the Order and the Headquarters Agreement between the UK Government and the 1971 Fund had led to the freezing injunction upon the 1971 Fund.
