In October 2008 the 1992 Fund Assembly noted the developments that had taken place in respect of the draft Protocol to the International Convention on Liability and Compensation for Damage in Connection with the Carriage of Hazardous and Noxious Substances by Sea, 1966 (HNS Convention), in particular the elaboration of a compromise proposal in respect of contributions to the Hazardous and Noxious Substances Fund (HNS Fund) as regards liquefied natural gases(LNG).
