In October 2000 the 1992 Fund Executive Committee, noting developments in respect of the incident, in particular the pleadings submitted to the Court by the shipowner and insurer denying that the Kuzbass was the source of the pollution of the German coast, instructed the Director to follow closely the legal proceedings and to take such steps as might be required to protect the 1992 Fund’s interest.
