In April 1979 the 1971 Fund Assembly took a vote by roll-call on a proposal that the Assembly should increase the aggregate amount of compensation payable by the 1971 Fund, including the amount payable by the shipowner under the 1969 Civil Liability Convention, in respect of any one incident to 900 million francs as provided in Article 4.6 of the 1971 Fund Convention. As the required three-fourths majority was not obtained, the proposal was rejected. The Assembly decided, however, on 20 April 1979, by a vote of 13 in favour and 1 against, to increase this amount to 675 million francs and adopted a Resolution to this effect.
