In October 2004 the 1992 Fund Executive Committee, noting that experts appointed by the shipowner had stated that the conclusion by the Swedish Forensic Laboratory that the pollution samples matched those taken form the Alambra were erroneous, endorsed the Director’s conclusion that there were no grounds to disagree with the findings of the Swedish authorities that the pollution originated from that vessel.
