In July 2002 the 1992 Fund Executive Committee and the 1971 Fund Administrative Council noted that, after taking into account the unsetled claims by the Japanese government agencies into account, the total exposure of the IOPC Funds could be estimated at £146 million. It was also noted that the Director had therefore decided that he was unable to increase the level payments over 80% at that stage.
