In January 2001 the 1992 Fund Executive Committee noted that on the first anniversary of the incident a demonstration took place outside the Claims Handling Office in Lorient, and that although the demonstration was generally peaceful, three individuals splashed the walls and windows of the Office with black paint and climbed on to the roof of the building before being arrested. The Committee reiterated its position that attacks, threats or intimidation against staff of the Office or other persons engaged by the Fund, including their families, were unacceptable.
