Decision ID: 000942
In February 1999 the 1971 Fund Executive Committee noted that the Court of Session in Edinburgh had rendered a judgement rejecting a claim for losses allegedly sustained by a salmon farmer located outside the exclusion zone established by the United Kingdom Government as a result of a depression in salmon prices. It was noted that the Court had held that the salmon farmer’s claim was no more than one for relational economic loss, and that the fact that the Fund had made interim payments to the claimant was, in the Court’s view irrelevant. The Committee noted that the claimant had given notice that he intended to appeal against the judgement.
