In April 1997 the 1971 Fund Assembly, noting that the 1971 Fund Executive Committe had at its 52nd session decided that the 1971 Fund’s payments should for the time being be limited to 60% of the damage suffered by the respective claimants, decided that the 1971 Fund should pay 60% of the damage suffered by each claimant up to a total amount of 60 million Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) before the 1992 Fund commenced payments of compensation.
