In May 1994 the 1971 Fund Executive Committee rejected claims by two companies based on mainland Scotland for loss of sales commissions on sales of salmon farmed in the exclusion zone established by the United Kingdom Government on the grounds that the claims did not fulfil the Fund’s admissibility criteria, in particular that the activities of the two claimants could not be considered as an integral part of the economic activity of the area affected by the spill.
