Decision ID: 000311

In October 1993 the 1971 Fund Executive Committee decided that losses due to a reduction in demand for transport services claimed by a haulage company which transported salmon from farms located in the exclusion zone could not be considered as damage caused by contamination and that this item of claim should be rejected. The Committee noted that the claimant, who also made wooden pallets on which to transport goods, had also claimed for losses due to a reduction in the number of pallets required. The Committee instructed the Director to examine whether the losses could be considered as damage caused by contamination and authorised him to settle this part of the claim, if and to the extent that this question were to be answered in the affirmative.
