In June 1993 the 1971 Fund Executive Committee considered that claims for loss of income suffered by fishermen and shellfish gatherers as a result of the contamination caused by the incident were in principle admissible. The Committee authorised the Director to make final settlements of all claims of this kind, provided, however, that this authorisation did not extend to losses that might be suffered in the future. .
